Where can I get this piece of home fitness equipment?`?

Many years ago - many, many years ago - there was this home fitness thing that was basically a spring inside of a telescoping rod, with handles on both ends (so it could be pushed shut against resistance), fitness equipment,crazy fit massage and it had cables between the handles (so when you pulled the cables apart, the telescoping rod pushed in on itself, again providing resistance). You could, for example, hold it like a bow-and-arrow, and pull on the cables for resistance. Like this: /~~~~~~ (------

I have a maximum of $200 right now. I'm not looking for really anything muscle building, but more fat and calorie burning. I'm kinda pudgy, so any ideas on equipment that could be useful. I can stick to a workout plan if it involves that and i do run but that gets boring sometimes. A good pair of running shoes with arch support inserts fitness equipment,crazy fit massage can be had for well under $200. Start out walking, then jogging the running. You're not going to get much of a gym membership for $200, so fageddaboutit.

If so what was it and did it work for you? just once and it wasn't all it was cracked up to be - remember the torso-track? ugh... remember that most of these commericals play to the weaknesses of the consumer...having something he/she wants (a great body) and an easy way to achieve that. There is no "secret" machine or "easy" way that you probably aren't already aware of. sorry if that sounded like lecturing, I think I'm just still mad at myself for buying that thing!
How do I start a realistic fitness program with the limited equipment at my apartment building's gym?

All my gym has is: One leg press machine One bench press machine that can be adjusted to do a shoulder press. One Lat pulldown machine that also has a bottom pulley for lat rows. One stationary bike One elliptical thing One treadmill That's it. No freeweights. How do I get started with a good strength training/fitness gym equipment,exercise bikes program that doesn't suck, using just these resources, that I can stick with? What should the program consist of? How many times a week? How many reps? How do I adjust the program as I get fitter? If it matters, I'm male, 30, 6'1", and 185 pounds of flab. I can do about 10 pushups and 1 pullup. resting pulse 76 bpm. Do you have a dvd player? Get a good dvd and use your body against itself. I did this and swam alot and biked a lot. I look great!
When buying fitness equipment, how bad is it to go over the weight capacity for the machine?

If you are that heavy, you will break the machine. gym machines,stepper You should purchase commercial-grade equipment....like they use in gyms. Yes, it's more expensive, but what good is a machine if you break it?

I need to make a exercise program that includes cardio,strength,and flexibillity exercises. I have a treamill and resistance bands ...can i do a program with these things ,without paying for a gym mebership etc??? Okay...I only started five Mondays ago and All I do is walk one hour every morning. I wear a calorie counter monitor to loose weight by the numbers. I have already lost two pant size and 27 pounds. I am a woman and have three kids and this is the method I use when I gain weight.. I am now at a size two and everyone is always amazed that I have had three kids. This is what I do below when I throw on a few extra pounds. It always works..No diet pills, no energy drinks..just me walking and getting the water I need. do you found anything uncomfortable about what you have now in your GYM? Machines to me are uncomfortable because it restricts your movements. When you first start working out they are good to learn the movement correctly but when you know how to do them free weights are the best cause they require you to balance yourself as you do the exercise. So all machines except the smith and leg press machines feel uncomfortalbe exercise machines,treadmill to me.

would i be better off getting a treadmill, or an eliptical or something else? 1st, it depends which machine you will like to use the most. That said, a rowing machine provides the most capability to burn calories and get in shape at the same time. No other machine can help you burn 1000 calories an hour working the legs, glutes, abs, back, fitness equipment,crazy fit massage 0 and arms as strongly. check out www.concept2.com , and the user forums. If you are having fun on a machine, its not very likely to be burning many calories. Check out your heart rate on a few at a sporting good store. Rowing, I can push my heart rate to 170 and above, and I'm 55 years old.
